Is Kenya worth visiting? Undoubtedly, Kenya is a gorgeous country that is definitely worth adding to your must-visit destinations. The weather is impossibly beautiful, with fascinating sandy beaches, awe-inspiring landscapes, wildlife, cultural heritage, and African food that will blow your mind.

Each year, thousands of tourists and locals visit the Masai Mara National Park to witness the great migration of animals in search of greener pastures. Every July to October, millions of zebras, Thomson’s gazelle, and wildebeests migrate from the Serengeti, Tanzania, crossing at the Mara River. 

The park is also home to other kinds of wild animals, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hippos and crocodiles in the Mara River. 

  1. Mt. Kenya 

For hikers, you’ll be glad to visit the highest mountain in Kenya and the 2nd highest in Africa. The mountain doesn’t only offer a beautiful sight to the country, it also offers a series of peaks and slopes crowned with snow and forest. 

Mt. Kenya features a height of 5199 meters, though it may be impossible to climb at the top due to the cold temperatures and snow. The temperature is favorable in the December to March period, the best time for rock climbing.

In the coastal part of Kenya, there is a host of beautiful beaches and islands where you can relax and enjoy the sunlight while drinking coconut filled drinks. The beaches in Mombasa and Malindi are warm all year, where you can walk and swim along the shore. 

There are also water spots for snorkeling, deep-sea fishing, surfing, and much more. You should also visit the Malindi Marine National Park for the best views of fish, and tortoise, among other aquatic animals. 

  1. Ethnic Diversity and culture 

Kenya is home to ethnic groups, featuring about 42 tribal groups. The country’s historical information and exhibits can be found at the various Museums like the Nairobi National Museum and the Kriandusi Museum.  

Also, the Maasai People exhibit the best of the African culture with their bright red clothing and traditional dancing. You will also enjoy famous delicious African dishes, including Nyama Choma (roasted meat), ugali, chapati, and a variety of seafood. 


Kenya is indeed a great place to visit for a vacation. It’s also quite affordable, so you won’t have to worry about emptying your bank account. The locals are also very kind, and most of them speak and understand English. As far as security is concerned, it’s safe to travel, especially during the day.
